
53% of Browsing Occurs on Smartphones in South Korea
The majority of web browsing occurs on smartphones in South Korea. In 2018 Q3, 53% of all browsing was via smartphones, followed by 38% on desktops devices. In contrast, the United States has almost the reverse of that trend, with 34% on smartphones and 51% on desktops.
While South Korea is very advanced technologically, they still have a significant share of browsing usage coming from feature phones, at 6%. And tablets are not that popular for browsing, with only 2% in South Korea.

Apple’s iPhone X is Top Phone in South Korea
The most used smartphone in South Korea during 2018 Q3 was the Apple iPhone X at 13.31%.
The popularity of the iPhone X in South Korea exceeds its popularity in the United States, where the iPhone X is the only the third most popular smartphone with 7.67%.
Among the top phones in South Korea, 8 of the top 12 are Apple iPhones. The remaining 4 are the Samsung Galaxy devices.

Apple is the Leading Smartphone Manufacturer
Apple is the leading manufacturer of smartphones used in South Korea for 2018 Q3 with 44.81%. Samsung is a second place with Samsung 44.30%. South Korea has a lower adoption of LG smartphones in third place (6.35%).
