WURFL Query

Add device selection and query to your webpage or application. WURFL Query is a cloud-based service with a REST API that lets you query the WURFL device database of more than 100,000 device profiles. Now, your consumer-facing application or dashboards can quickly select the exact model of a smartphone, tablet, or smart TV and test whether it matches or meets certain criteria. You can even use QR codes to identify devices when used in conjunction with our WURFL.js Business Edition product. Or, you can query multiple devices that meet a set of criteria. How WURFL Query Works
Device Coverage

ScientiaMobile is constantly updating and expanding its cloud-based Device Description Repository (DDR) that WURFL Query interrogates. We ensure accurate coverage of the newest devices, including long-tail Indian and Chinese devices. WURFL tracks 100,000 device profiles, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart TVs, and game consoles.

Any WURFL user who would like to add new devices permanently to WURFL can submit a request by emailing wurfldb@scientiamobile.com. Read more about how to do it here.
WURFL Device Capabilities

The public beta of WURFL Query offers more than 20 of WURFL’s most important device capabilities. Developers can use these device capabilities to provide more fine-grained control and selection of devices.

Beta Trial

WURFL Query is currently available as a public beta. ScientiaMobile is working on a Business Edition of the product. WURFL Query Business Edition will let paying customers pick their preferred set of capabilities and remove certain rate-limiting feature that have been put in place to prevent abuse of the public beta.
